The Five County Fair returns to Farmville Sept. 22–26, bringing five days of rides, livestock, contests, entertainment and fair food to the Five County Fairgrounds.
The annual fair brings together Buckingham, Appomattox, Charlotte, Cumberland and Prince Edward counties, with residents from all five counties taking part in exhibits, competitions and 4-H and FFA activities throughout the week.
This year’s fair will also have a new midway. Dreamland Amusements is providing the rides and carnival attractions, with options ranging from thrill rides to family and children’s rides.
The entertainment lineup includes Cowboy Andy Rotz, the Agri-Puppets and wrestling, along with contests, pageants and other activities scheduled during the week.
Buckingham residents can get in on the competition, too. Fair entries include livestock, crops, flowers, food, fine art, photography, handicrafts and more. Buckingham 4-H and FFA members are also eligible to participate in this year’s patriotic display contest.
The theme for the 2026 fair is “Stars, Stripes, and County Nights.”
The Five County Fairgrounds are located at 209 Fairgrounds Road in Farmville.
